What is permanent make-up?
An exciting procedure in which color pigments are placed into the dermal layer of the skin using a very fine probe. The color can last up to 4 - 6 years and is a convenient alternative to daily application of makeup. The pigment is made of earth's finest ingredients of inert organic and inorganic compounds formulated to be hypo-allergenic and fade resistant.
What type of procedures do you offer?
- Eyeliner and Eyelash Enhancement - A fine, soft natural line can be created to add depth and definition to your eyes. Your lashes will appear to be thicker. Color and thickness can be individualized and make-up can be applied for a more dramatic evening look.
- Eyebrows - Eyebrows are the frame for your eyes and face and, when designed properly, lifts the eyes giving a more youthful appearance, makes cheekbones appear more prominent, and influence how the nose is perceived. Those women whose eyebrows are sparse from tweezing, shaving or alopecia, and those whose brows are blonde or light in color, or even those with non-existent eyebrows, can now enjoy the luxury of permanent eyebrows.
- Lip Color - Lip-liner and full lipstick color is perfect for reshaping uneven lips and for making lips appear larger and fuller. It has the added benefit of preventing lipstick from bleeding. It covers scars and can give your lips a natural or more dramatic blend of color enhancement with color, which lasts all day, every day.
- Camouflaged Scars and Vitiligo - Color is matched to your skin tone and is applied to the scar area to match the surrounding area so that scars seem to disappear.
- Areola/Nipple Restoration - The areola can be restored to a more natural looking color and shape after surgery or mastectomy.
- Cleft Lip - Full lip color can be applied to reshape the lip and cover the scars from cleft lip repair.
- Cancer And Burn Patients - Eyebrows, eyelash enhancement and lip color can be done due to hair loss and scarring or disfigurement.

What if styles change?
As permanent make-up professionals, we never do anything that is too trendy. We use colors that are custom blended to compliment your skin tone, eye and hair colors to give a soft natural appearance. However, the colors can be changed, at any time, by blending another color over the original, if you wish.
Is it expensive?
Not if you look at the long term cost and effect. It costs about one year's cosmetics bill, but is little compared to 4 - 6 years of daily make-up expenses. Also, it doesn't run or wash off, and it's a great time saver. It's worth every penny to make the most of your natural beauty. It's what we've all been waiting for!
Does it look natural?
Very natural - your features look more defined. Your friends would never know what the difference was in you unless you told them.
How long will it last?
This varies with each individual person, though the usual duration is between four to six years. Imagine how wonderful it would be to wake up each morning, with two matching eyebrows, or to go swimming and know that your eyebrow, eyeliner, and lip liner will still be intact when you emerge from the water. You can look wonderful 24 hours a day!
Is there a chance of infection?
Safety is our priority. Everything we use is sterile. She has been highly trained in this art to exacting standards. Although there is always a risk of infection, it is relatively low compared to other procedures.
What is the healing period like?
On the second day after a procedure, a light crust will form - which is only dry to your touch. This will fall off in a few days. Some of the color may come off with this layer. During this time the pigment area may look a little darker than what you decided upon - once the crust flakes off it is common for the color to lighten 10 - 50%.
What will the procedure feel like?
Some patients say it feels like plucking their eyebrows. Others say it feels like slight scratching, vibration or deep pressure. Some clients feel absolutely nothing except a prickly sensation. We use anesthetics to greatly reduce discomfort and promote relaxation. A new two step topical numbing technique is used to assure our clients comfort. The area may feel chapped or sunburned for a few days afterward.
How long will the procedure take?
A 1 1/2 to 2 hour appointment will be scheduled for your saturation visit (first procedure). If necessary this will be followed by a focus visit to finish the details. All procedures are scheduled 4 - 6 weeks apart to allow the skin to heal and the color to stabilize.
Will there be any swelling?
There may be a small amount of redness and swelling around the treated area. This will be gone in 6 - 12 hours after brow color, and 24 - 48 hours after eye liner and lip color.
Will it fade?
The first 2 weeks after a procedure is called the color stabilization time. The first few hours after a procedure, the color will darken as the swelling subsides. In 3 - 7 days, the epidermal (outer) layer of skin will gradually peel or flake off as the new layer regrows. Some of the color will come off with this layer. Allow for a 20% - 50% fade during this time. Over time the color will soften.
Will I need to take off work?
No, there is minimum swelling and redness. Ice is used to reduce swelling and an ointment is used for several days.
What about sterilization?
Only sterile disposable probes are used. All other equipment is either discarded after use or sterilized in an autoclave according to strict Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
